I never considered myself an athlete when I was younger. I stayed away from athletics during highschool.

When I joined the Rowing team my freshman year at Purdue, I was stunned by how out of shape I was. I couldn't do a single pull-up and I was resigned to the worst boat on the team. Fed up with myself and looking to try anything, I started CrossFit later that year.

I didn't initially fall in love with CrossFit. It was hard and I was sore constantly. But I kept at it and it soon became an addiction. I couldn't help but talk about CrossFit constantly. I was hooked. It became my sport.

That was 2007. I haven't stopped since. Since then I have received my CrossFit level 1 cert, started the Purdue CrossFit club, trained at West Lafayette CrossFit, and joined CrossFit Broad Ripple as an owner and a trainer.

My CrossFit career began in an open-air gym on top of a carwash in the Dominican Republic, shortly after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The challenge, variety, and scalability of the workouts kept me motivated to make fitness a priority, despite the lack of gym equipment and my subpar physical condition.

After moving back to the States, joining the CrossFit Broad Ripple community, and getting a clean bill of health, I have been encouraged on a whole new level to continue in my pursuit of a holistically healthy lifestyle. Since experiencing such extraordinary results in my own life, I am driven to share my passion with everyone. I love seeing others better their lives with CrossFit as they gain discipline, strength, and self-assurance through hard work and sweat. I have earned my CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certificate and truly desire to change lives through the incredible sport of fitness.

I am a firm believer that CrossFit is for everyone. I have experienced an amazing transformation in my own life that goes far beyond physical results. I have gained confidence, mental strength, and a supportive family of fellow athletes that can be found nowhere else.
